Stephen Cheung is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Brock University, with his research focusing on the effects of environmental stress on human physiology and performance. This encompasses both basic and applied research into heat, cold and cold water immersion, and altitude. His collaborations have included the Canadian Forces, Toronto Fire Service, Search and Rescue, the ultra deep mining industry, along with clothing and equipment manufacturers and World Champion cyclists. He has been a competitive cyclist for >30 years, and has been writing popular articles on cycling science since 2002. He is the author of a textbook on environmental physiology along with two books on the science of cycling, Cutting-Edge Cycling and the newly released Cycling Science.
