Dr. Koehle is a physician trained in rural and remote medicine and sport medicine. He is also a physiologist specialising in exercise, respiratory and environmental physiology. Dr. Koehle is an Associate Professor in both the School of Kinesiology and the Division of Sports Medicine in the Department of Family Practice and the principal investigator for the environmental physiology lab at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Dr. Koehle did his clinical training at the University of Toronto and UBC, and various rural and remote locations around Canada and internationally. He provides clinical care for a large group of top age group and professional triathletes as part of his medical practice. He also provides coaching services for long course triathletes. His research investigates the interaction between exercise and environmental stressors such as air pollution and high altitude.
